The Free College Benefit makes it possible for you and your family members to earn an associate degree completely online – for FREE.

Why Get Your Degree?

A Degree Makes A Difference

Go back to school while you continue to work. If you’re unsure or get stuck, you’ll have online access to tutoring services, your enrollment advisor and your highly-qualified instructors.

Online classes let you work on your own time and at your own pace during the semester.

Graduate from a respected, accredited academic institution.

Eastern Gateway is regionally accredited, so credits are transferable. We encourage students to talk to their advisor about the process.

Eastern Gateway Community College is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, so credits you earn are transferable. Over half of all college students choose community college to begin their higher education and they provide students with a solid foundation to continue their education.

You won’t pay any out-of-pocket costs for tuition fees or e-books. To be eligible, students must simply apply for federal financial aid and apply any grants or tuition reimbursement to their EGCC bill. The Free College benefit will cover the rest- even if you aren’t eligible for any other aid!

EGCC will work with you to ensure that any previous college work or relevant work or military experience counts toward your degree.

Spring (2) Registration Deadline is March 16th, 2018

A Letter From Steven Murphy

While college debt continues to plague this country, IBEW Local 2323 is proud to announce a new Free College Benefit for all IBEW Local 2323 members and their families. As you know, IBEW Local 2323 has always supported education for our members. This new initiative affords us the opportunity to provide it to our family members, as well. Today, we are introducing a way for IBEW Local 2323 members and their families to work towards obtaining a college degree for free.

We have partnered with Eastern Gateway Community College to offer this excellent opportunity. Eastern Gateway Community College is a public, non-profit, regionally accredited school that offers working men and women a path towards obtaining an Associate’s Degree in a variety of available programs.

All course work is done on-line and there is no out of pocket cost to you for tuition, fees or books. The IBEW Local 2323 Free College Benefit combines Pell, federal grants with employer reimbursement, then covers any remaining costs for your tuition, fees and online books. All students must complete the federal financial aid application, but even if you are not eligible for any federal or employer grants, there is absolutely no cost to the member and you will never be asked to take out any loans. The best of all is that the IBEW Local 2323 Free College Benefit is available to you, your spouse, your children, including dependents and your grandchildren.

Over half of all college students choose community college to begin their higher education. The courses offered are regionally accredited, transferable and the college will work with you to ensure that any previous college work, relevant work, or military experience counts towards your degree.

A very important aspect of this benefit is the support you will receive. When you call, you are assigned a staff member who will guide you through the process of applying and assist you in signing up for your course. Everyone at Eastern Gateway Community College is focused on helping IBEW Local 2323 members to achieve their personal education goals on your schedule and at your own pace.

We encourage you to take advantage of this exciting new benefit.
